University Heights Market

Academic Project

Winter 2014

with University of Washington

Description

The University District Farmer’s Market is one of the oldest markets in Seattle. It serves a diverse population, sitting right at the edge of commercial and residential spaces. Its location next to the University Heights Center emphasizes the connection between community and commerce.
The project’s objectives were to create a community building that emphasizes neighborhood connection and engagement, connecting spatially with the University Heights Center (on the adjacent lot) and the major arterial intersections at its corners.
