Design Technologist
Provide technical support and implementation with visualization and BIM technologies. Manage Revit projects. Produce designs and mock-ups for interior installations using parametric design and digital fabrication. Instruct firm members on use of computational design software. Write and implement computational solutions for design and workflow problems.

ROLES & PROJECTS
Project Architect - 2019 - Tesseract, Seattle, WA. High-end home remodel, featuring a PV array, a smart home display and customized built-ins and fixtures.
Designer & Model Manager - 2018 - Cloverdale Townhomes, Seattle, WA. 61 unit development split into 4 projects. Created BIM workflow and developed Dynamo scripts to facilitate synchronization between projects.
Designer - 2018 - Wavelength, Seattle, WA. Lobby ceiling lighting installation for a multi-family project in Seattle, WA. Created design concept and wrote custom controls for an RGB LED matrix and fabricated mock-ups for client approval.
Lead Designer - 2018 - Seeing is Believing, Seattle, WA. Designed and constructed a large camera obscura for the Seattle Design Festival theme of “Trust”. Worked with fabricators and contractors.

Full-Time Intern Architect - Computational Designer
Performed site analyses including code summaries, context studies, urban fabric analysis, parametric view studies, and solar access studies. Created a variety of feasibility studies, from typical 5-over-1 midrise to 200' towers. Developed complex analytical and form-finding tools. Generated renderings and diagrams of a wide range of scales and styles. Created a variety of tools for public engagement. Cofounded the Computational Design Group within the firm.
ROLES & PROJECTS
Designer - 2017 - Cadence 21, Seattle, WA. 4 story, 28 unit hybrid CLT and traditional framing apartment building. Designed unit layouts, produced materials for design review, built models and diagrams for CLT hybrid structure which are used currently for demonstrations and presentations on CLT in multi-family housing.
Designer & Analyst - 2016 - Liberty Harbor, Liberty Harbor, New Jersey. Urban planning and design project for several blocks of high-rise buildings, park spaces and retail corridors. Produced parametric urban analysis using GIS and social media.
Designer - 2016 - Block 67, Salt Lake City, UT. Block-wide project near downtown Salt Lake City. Developed facade studies and specialized building elements using computational methods.
Designer - 2015 - Taman Budaya, Sentul City, Indonesia. Event center featuring a hotel, spa, conference hall and chapel. Developed urban and view analysis for the site, produced designs for the large pavilion, event center and chapel.
Lead Designer & Fabricator - 2016 - Transmission, Seattle, WA, Seattle Design Festival/GGLO 30th Anniversary Festival. Installation consisting of two acoustic mirrors constructed from plywood and ceramic tile.

FREELANCE WORK
LEAD PENCIL STUDIO
2015 to Present
Digital Fabrication & Modeler - 2018 - Transforest sculpture at Denny Substation, Seattle, WA. Took engineering drawings from ARUP and produced a series of fabrication drawings using Grasshopper for hundreds of intricate and exacting connections between sheets of steel, to be welded by Lead Pencil Studio.
Designer - 2017 - Ephemeral States, Anchorage, AK. An exhibit on climate change at the Anchorage Museum of Arts. Produced digital models from LiDAR and GIS data for CNC milling. Digitally sculpted models using Blender for laser etching. Produced videos and renderings for display and merchandise.
Modeler & Renderer - 2017 - Various installations. Developed a parametric modeling workflow to replicate Lead Pencil Studio’s distinctive and iconic sculptural technique using a multitude of short metal rods to create large, diffuse forms and shapes. Produced models, renders and video for client presentations.
